Heart Week Results

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry that there hasn't been much action on the blog these days, these past few weeks have been crazy! Anyway, this post is about Heart Week and how awesome it was!!

• King of Hearts was a blast and so many people came out to support Alpha Phi! There was also some fierce competition amongst the fraternities to get as many beads as possible. In the end a brother from PiKapp won the title of King of Hearts!
• The dating game was also a huge success. Funger 108 was full to the brim with sororities and fraternities. All the boys where dying for a date with our lovely Queen of Hearts, Katie McCutcheon and the lucky Kappa Sigma who won was very excited to say the least.
• And last, but not least, Hoops for Hearts! Also a huge success! The final game between PiKapp and Pike was very intense but the brothers of Pike ended the tournament as the champions. The hula-hoop tournament between the sororities was also a fun halftime event in between basketball games.
• Clearly there were lots of different winners throughout the many events of Heart Week but PiKapp came in at first place! So congratulations to the brothers of PiKapp!!

That's the much abbreviated version of Heart Week, but we can all thank Charlotte McCoy and Libby Marsh for organizing and running such a great couple of days!!!

Changing topics a bit.. Initiation is tomorrow! Our 11 new Phis have been enjoying a wonderful new member period but it's finally time for them to be officially welcomed into Alpha Phi and the chapter couldn't be more excited. The Inspiration Week ceremonies have been very special and we all can't wait for tomorrow. Get in touch with your G-G-G-G-Littles to see if you have any new fam members to congratulate!

Spring Recruitment = Success!

As you may know from the email, our Spring Recruitment process this year was amazing. The Preference Ceremony was fantastic and the Bid Day dinner that followed was so much fun! Overall, it was a huge success for our chapter! (Left: The lovely Pledge mom Sush with her new babies).

Their new member period started off with a bang starting with a Vegas themed mixer with Sigma Chi this past Friday and of course Heart Week just started today! Needless to say, I'm pretty sure they're loving it and feel right at home!

The babies aren't the only ones who are excited for Heart Week though. The whole campus is excited for Heart Week. This year anyone and everyone from GW is invited to the King of Hearts Party which will be a great way for our chapter to really get our name out around campus. Go Alpha Phi!
